Fueling the Slow Fire: The Mexican Slow Cooker

I was excited to add this to my Mexican cuisine cookbook collection when I found it. We all know I love Mexican flavors, traditional and Americanized. This cookbook advertised being to create those flavors in a fix it and forget it manner, but didn’t really come through on that promise.
A lot of the recipes in this book require four or less hours in the crock pot, which is much less than the typical work day or even a day on the town. Add to that the need to tend to the recipes during those hours by adding sauces or moving things around and then it really isn’t a fix it and forget it kind of thing.
Still Schneider knows her flavors and the recipes deliver on that front. I can’t wait to use this book in conjunction with her Salsas and Moles book.
Disclaimer: I received this book for free in exchange for a fair and honest review. This in no way affects my opinion of the book.
